WARNING: If you are related to me by blood or a legally binding contract or even by a drunken night in our 20s involving too many Camels and a bottle of Jagermeister or you otherwise have reason to believe you may receive a holiday gift from me please, please please I beg of you, don't click on the links below! Christmas gift pictures a'comin! This means you mom and Angel!
My family has this THING that has evolved over time. I have quite a few people in my immediate family and we do the whole name drawing thing, but we also kid of made this little tradition of the women all giving each other a small little goody - something you found that's inexpensive that you think everyone might like as well. This year because I'm such a Joiner, a Club Member, a Bandwagoneer I was able to hop in this little A-Long and make a bunch of cool stuff to boot.
I pulled out all of my fabric scraps and had a hoe-down assembly line weekend of making these!
So much fun, so easy to make, so functional and such a great way to use up fabric scraps. By the end of the weekend I had SEVENTEEN of them. Seventeen. If I have ever made anything whatsoever for you in the past, more than likely you will be able to find your fabric in there somewhere. I love the wonky quilting.
So there you go Denyse Schmidt. I bet you never thought you'd have such an homage. A Seventeen You-Know-What Salute.
Onward and upward to the Next Big Christmas Thing!

Posted by Angela at October 26, 2005 04:13 PMDo you have a pattern for "these" I would love to make some. I am relatively new to sewing and they seem simple enough.
Thanks!
Posted by: Rhiannon at October 26, 2005 08:35 PMSo cute! And I saw the fabric from the cover to my diaper bag's crap mat!
Posted by: Sue Sue at October 26, 2005 10:10 PMhey, I'm jumpin on that bandwagon
Posted by: Dixie at October 27, 2005 08:25 AMHey, I just hope you remember that night: a loaf of bread, the Jagermeister, and thou? Cause I seriously think they're so cool. I was coveting them before I saw all SEVENTEEN of 'em. You're worse than I am with the dishrags.
Hey. Swap ya dishrags. Rilly fabby dishrags.
Or I'll just await my Santa Pfaff and make my own. Yours would make Denyse so proud. I hope she finds them while googling herself. Doesn't everybody google themself? xox Kay
Posted by: Kay at October 27, 2005 06:51 PMohmyGOSH, those are adorable!
Posted by: Norma at October 28, 2005 05:34 PMYep, I vaguely recall that night we spent in.... where was it? Anyway, I TRIED to get you to switch to tequila, but NOOO, you wanted the Jagermeister, and I had to run over to the Piggly Wiggly or some such for the Camels that you and that tall blond guy wanted AND it was raining.... so where's my potholder?
Posted by: KT at October 29, 2005 01:00 AMUm, yes, pattern, please. I need to continue in my quest to be just like Angela. I haven't actually started, but this might get the ball rolling.
