excuse city`

batiks.jpg

I have gobs of excuses for being a very sadly lacking blogger.

1. I am possessed by a need to clean out everything in our house. The last 4.5 years of new kid-dom have put us in a world of crap in more ways than one. Really, there's just no time to do any extra cleaning out of closets or anythig like that. Finally at long last, the crap-culling has begun and I have sold anything that wasn't tightly attached to our house on ebay. A quite lighter house and almost $500 later, the upstairs is feeling marginally more manageable.

2. We got a new giant TV and it's... hypnotic.

3. It's fall and we're in our window of Nice Weather here in Nashville (all 18 days of it) so advantage must be taken.

4. It's fall and there are like 8,000 things to do around here - pumpkin farms, fall festivals, craft festivals and even a fiber festival this coming weekend.

5. It's fall and too many good movies are out.

6. Lots of crafting going on, but most of it Christmas related and too many receivers of gifts reading the blog. The one thing I can talk about since I can pretty safely say my mother in law doesn't visit here is my foray into batiks. I've never really given much thought to them, but as of late I've given TOO much thought to them. More soon when that project gets fired up.

If you live in town and are planning on going to the Harvest Fest in Murfreesboro this weekend to watch some sheep shearing and buy some locally yarn, let me know and we'll meet for funnel cake. It's no Rhinebeck, but it's all we've got kids.

I knew it must be something dire but had no idea it would be as bad as de-crusting the house of extraneous stuff. If I go missing, it's never that.

It's mean to tease with the batik picture.

Murfreesboro FIBER FEST? It's me, Ann, the one who was with you for the crocheted wedding cake? Member me?

I am SO in. Who what when where? The why--let's not ask why. I'll be traveling heavy--two fellas at least--but would love to break funnel cake.

Lemme know when you're going.

I had such high hopes for a trade for that book, too.

I will be at the fiber arts festival tommorrow. Look for the blonish medium height gal in an orange tshirt with a bat on it. That'll be me.
