Look! A photo! An actual picture! I finished something. I finished a couple of things, but I hate to blow my wad in one post, so you'll have to wait.
This is a double pointed needle case for my friend pamela
What I learned making the needle case:
1. I learned the exact width of every size of double pointed needle.
2. I learned that permanent press can bite my ass.
This is the inside. It folds kind of like a book and has two rows of little pockets (just in case you are some kind of double point collecting freak and have like 30 sets). Made of that spawn of hades permanent press and a vintage sheet. (I have found that sheets are so GREAT for stuff. They are never ending. You think you must have used up that sheet but no! it's back for more!)
There is so much wrong with the case that I have felt the need to write Pamela two notes apologizing for that damnable permanent press and the result of its ickiness. One note just didn't cover the depth of my distaste or my regret.
Next up, the completed Jesse sweater and it's happy Valentine's Day recipient.

very cool! and i like the idea of using the odd bedsheet that is just loitering in the linen closet. i'm sure she'll love it :o)

Posted by: Kay at February 15, 2005 08:49 AMI love sheets! I have Amy Butler plans for a few in my stash. Last year I made a skirt out of an Ikea duvet . . . cover (or do you just say duvet? I never get it straight).
Posted by: Nicole at February 15, 2005 11:11 AMI admit it I am a DPN collecting freak!
I love it, it's beautiful. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
Posted by: Pamela at February 16, 2005 12:09 PMwell that is just as neat as can be! i'm with you on the hating permapress, but i think sheets are a just a big PITA regardless.
